Bespoke Geometric Mosaic

Bespoke Geometric Mosaic

Project Overview

This project was initiated by a residential design firm in California looking to revitalize the grand foyer of a private estate. The client requested a custom geometric flooring pattern that could harmonize with existing walnut wood paneling and historic architectural elements.
We managed the material selection process, sourcing specific marble varieties to achieve the requested color balance. Each stone element was precision-cut in our facility to ensure the final layout achieved a seamless fit on-site. The result is a bespoke, durable stone mosaic that serves as the visual anchor of the residence.

Design Inspiration & Intent

The design direction was to move away from uniform, large-format slabs in favor of a “heritage-inspired” pattern that feels organic and handcrafted. The goal was to introduce a sense of depth and tactile warmth to the entryway without overwhelming the space.
By strategically placing contrasting natural stones, we were able to create a rhythmic pattern that guides the eye through the transition space between the exterior and interior. The scale of the geometry was carefully calculated to suit the proportions of the hallway, ensuring the pattern feels intentional and integrated rather than forced.
